Conspiracy Alert!

November 29th, 2012 by Ange | No Comments | Leave a comment | Filed in Screen |

The end of Conspiracy 365 is near! Before the explosive final on December 1 at 7pm, the Family Movie Channel on Foxtel and Austar have started airing double episodes of the series from 6pm each night just in case you need to catch up.

We caught up with stars Harrison Gilbert (Cal), Taylor Glockner (Boges) and Marny Kennedy (Winter) and interrogated them about the final…

MANIA: What happens in the final episode?
TAYLOR: “All the bad guys and good guys find themselves in the same little area within a few hundred metres of each other. It’s interesting to see how that plays out, who survives and who doesn’t.”
MARNY: “Don’t assume you know who the bad guys are. It’s not until the final moments that we who know the bad guys are and that might come as a surprise…”

MANIA: Toughest thing to shoot in the whole Conspiracy 365 journey?
MARNY: “The oil tank stuff. We filmed it in the middle of June/July and it was a really cold night in the middle of a junkyard. Harrison had to be dumped into this fake oil and it was freezing! I only got a little bit on me and was shivering, so I can’t imagine being dumped in it properly like Harrison.”

MANIA: Favourite moment shooting Conspiracy 365?
HARRISON: “It’s not in the way that it was over, but when the show wrapped, it felt really good because it was such a mammoth thing doing Conspiracy 365. The final day was a beautiful day too and we were shooting at St Kilda on the beach!”
MARNY: “Harrison actually jumped into the water and so did the crew.”

Find out how it all ends in Conspiracy 365 on December 1 at 7pm on the Family Movie Channel, part of the Movie Network Channels on Foxtel and Austar!

Space Secrets!

April 13th, 2012 by Ange | No Comments | Leave a comment | Filed in Games |

We had a chat with Anthony Tambrin, who’s part of the Little Space Heroes crew! He shared some cool tips and behind the scenes snippets with us!

MANIA: What’s your job at Little Space Heroes?
Anthony: My job is to build the virtual universe where players interact.

MANIA: Which character from Little Space Heroes are you most like?
Anthony: The others say I sound like Shadowbot when I laugh. But I actually think I’m like Gizmo, the friendly robot. Gizmo always acts and says things in a weird way, but everybody comes to him for help.

MANIA: Do you guys get into character and walk around in space suits while you’re working on Little Space Heroes?
Anthony: We sometimes do impersonations of characters when discussing the storyline and gameplay. Some people in the team love to bake and we get to eat cookies and cakes shaped as Glow and aliens. Yum!

MANIA: What do you think is the coolest part of the game?
Anthony: Pet Kritterz. You can feed them and take them around the world. Here’s a little secret, if you have more than one pet, they’ll play tag amongst themselves when you’re inside the house.

MANIA: Can you tell us another secret?
Anthony: Go to Professor Q’s Lab in the Space Heroes Academy – you can’t miss it! Stand on the blue pad and shoot your blaster at the lever. Just see what happens!

MANIA: What’s next for Little Space Heroes?
Anthony: We’re focusing on multiplayer games. We’ve already launched the Springbot Smashball a couple of weeks ago, so we’ll keep adding games like this so kids can play games together. Meet me in Little Space Heroes! My Hero’s name is Chubby!

Bring on the Big Bash League!

January 6th, 2012 by Ange | No Comments | Leave a comment | Filed in AWSM |

Yo YAKS, what have you guys been up to these summer holidays? We’re having heaps of fun playing backyard cricket and following the KFC T20 Big Bash League. We caught up with rising cricket batsman Chris Lynn from Brisbane Heat to see how it’s all going!

MANIA: Hi Chris! Tell us a bit about the T20 Big Bash League…

Chris: I’m from Brisbane Heat and we’ve got guys like Matthew Hayden coming in, out of retirement, Ryan Harris, Brendon McCullum and all these international players as well. The other teams also have international players like Chris Gayle and David Warner.

MANIA: How long have you been playing cricket for?

Chris: Since I was eight and now I’m 21. It’s something I love doing.  I’m a bit of a competitive person, so I find it really easy playing cricket.

MANIA: What’s your batting strategy for the Big Bash League?

Chris: Just watching the ball right off the bat and keeping my head still.

MANIA: Where’s the strangest place you’ve played cricket?

Chris: I went over to Vanuatu for a mate’s wedding. He’s also a cricketer so we lined up a game against the locals. It was really good!

MANIA: What are your top tips for MANIACS who want to be cricket stars one day?
Chris:

  • Train hard – Train more than normal hours.
  • Keep your head still while you’re batting.
  • Always want the ball to come to you when you’re fielding.
  • Play every game as if it’s your last!
